Big shout to Bernie Mac who died today at the age of 50. He had complications with pneumonia and passed on in a Chicago hospital. Mac also suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory disease in his lungs. It caused the cells to group together on certain organs, Macs publicist said that his death had nothing to do with sarcoidosis, cause his case has been in remission since 2005.

Police in Michigan arrested a kid they say tried to steal posters and other items related to the new Batman movie from a cinema lobby while dressed up as the Joker.

Three Rivers Detective Mike Mohney said he expected 20yr old Spencer Taylor to be charged with larceny and malicious destruction of property.

Taylor is scheduled to be arraigned on August 5 in St Joseph County District Court.

Mohney says police officers who were dispatched to the Three Rivers Six Theatre arrived to find employees restraining a man wearing a purple suit, a green wig and face paint in the style of Batman's nemesis in The Dark Knight.

THE Dark Knight is predicted to overtake Spider-Man as the highest grossing comic book film.

Ecstatic reviews, particularly for the late Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker, has box office expectations sky high.

US box office pundits predict the film will make more than $100 million in its first three days after it opens tomorrow.

Spider-Man made $413 million and is No. 7 on the all-time US box office chart.

In Australia The Dark Knight made $2,277,786 on its first day of opening on Wednesday on 472 screens.

Hoyts Cinemas marketing manager, Sara Hoogendoorn, said many sessions in Australia sold out on Wednesday.

"It is great to see that The Dark Knight did enjoy a very strong opening; especially given it opened on a Wednesday - and Victoria was out of school holidays," she said.

The takings were not an opening day record - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix made $4 million on the day it opened last year - but The Dark Knight did beat Spider-Man 3's opening day figure of $1.85 million last year and Casino Royale's first day of $1.42 million in 2006.

Teenage mom Jamie Lynn Spears, sister of pop star Britney Spears, showed off her new baby girl in an OK! magazine exclusive on Wednesday and said being a mother was "so much fun."

Spears, 17, gave birth to daughter Maddie Briann on June 19 and is raising the baby with boyfriend Casey Aldridge in their Mississippi home.

"I love taking care of her. It is so much fun. I just want to hug her and kiss her, and I'm happy all the time," she told OK!.

At around 10:15 pm yesterday, Lil’ Wayne was arrested on one count of second-degree aggravated assault, one count of disturbing the peace, and two counts for possession of a firearm.

According to an eyewitness the incident took place in the VIP lounge at Club Dream in downtown New Orleans. The eyewitness reports that an up and coming rapper performing that night who goes by the name of Lil’ Dee, approached Lil’ Wayne with an intent to start a fight.

The two exchanged words when Lil’ Wayne got out of his lounge chair and headed out the VIP. According to the eyewitness then, Lil’ Dee grappled Lil’ Wayne’s arm and turned him around.

When Wayne’s bodyguard approached Dee, Wayne reportedly laughed it off and retorted, “What you gonna do to me uh Im the fucking man of this city!” Wayne then continued heading out of the VIP area. Sources state that Lil’ Dee grabbed Lil’ Wayne once more and without a moments hesitation punched him in the face. Lil’ Wayne was knocked down causing the room into a frenzy.

Jefferson and Orleans Parish Police Officers arrived on the scene as secuirity guards ushered patrons out of the area. There they arrested both men for aggravated assault and disturbing the peace.

Witnesses say officers found two unregistered pistol on Wayne and immediately arrested him.
